Executive Management Team

Jack Cox (John J. Cox, III), President

John J. Cox, III graduated from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Technology. He has been a part of Halfacre Construction Company since he was 14 years old. In 2001, he became president of the company and in 2007 he became the sole owner of Halfacre Construction Company. Since then he has served on the Board of Directors of The Argus Foundation, Cadence Bank, Gulf Coast Builders Exchange, Charlotte County Economic Development Council, Sarasota County Economic Development Council, Suncoast Charities for Children, Suncoast Foundation for Handicapped Children, Inc. and the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation Construction Industry Licensing Board.

Reed Giasson, Vice President – Operations

Reed has been with Halfacre Construction Company for over 18 years and has over 20 years of construction experience. As Director of Preconstruction, Reed oversees all aspects of project budgets and schedules, providing direction and resolving issues as they arise. Reed’s capability to quickly assess client project requests, put together quick, accurate pricing, assess manpower needs and develop schedule/site logistics plans for handling the work will fit well in handling the all types of projects. Reed resides in Sarasota with his wife and two daughters.

Tom Rees, Vice President

Tom has been with Halfacre since 2004. Tom is a highly skilled Senior Project Manager with over 15 years construction, project and operations experience. He holds an excellent track record of completing projects on time and within budget with extensive experience in various delivery methods including Design Build and CM at Risk projects. His diverse background includes Industrial, Municipal, Educational and Nonprofit projects in public and private markets. Tom is an expert at renovation and addition projects on active sites and campuses. Tom resides in Sarasota with his wife and three children.

Greg Witt, Vice President

Greg Witt has been with Halfacre Construction since 2004 and oversees his projects from start to finish. As Vice President and Senior Project Manager, he develops construction schedules and budgets and works closely with the team to ensure the project remains on schedule and in budget. He assists with cost estimating during preconstruction and provides value engineering services throughout the project. Greg is a third generation Manatee County Resident and serves on the Board of the Bradenton Economic Development Corporation.
