Halfacre Construction Company, the construction manager for the project, is seeking submissions from qualified subcontractors for the construction of the new classroom addition with a courtyard and covered walkways. Construction is scheduled to start in fall 2020, with a projected completion date of summer 2021.

Several trade packages are included in the request for bids, such as electrical, plumbing, concrete, masonry and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), among other trades. View the full list here.

Package documents for the project are available via Procore. Bids must be received via email by Wednesday, July 22.

The new structure was designed by Fawley Bryant Architecture. Once the replacement is complete, the current building will be demolished. The newest structure will house classrooms and other educational spaces for elementary children.

The approximately $5.5 million project will be phased to accommodate an active campus. Located at 150 N. McCall Road in Englewood, the current campus consists of 12 buildings and four portables.

“Halfacre Construction Company is proud to continue work with Sarasota County Public Schools,” said Jack Cox, president of Halfacre Construction Company. “Safety is our priority and moving forward to construction, COVID-19 safety measures will be implemented through the on-site work environment for the entirety of the project.”
