Community Involvement

John F. Kennedy spoke  eloquently when he said:

“One person can make a difference and every person should try,” and “Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.”

Halfacre Construction leaders Bill Halfacre, the late John Cox and now Jack Cox share the same values and put action to those words in a spirit of serving our community, especially its children. The company has enjoyed a measure of success since its inception and the company philosophy is that success demands responsibility to help others. It’s just the right thing to do.

Halfacre Construction supports our community through giving, fundraising, donating building projects and serving on organizational advisory boards. The following organizations have benefited from the direct involvement of Halfacre Construction:

Special Olympics — an organization providing athletic training and competition to the disabled.

Sarasota Special Athlete Boosters — which provides equipment, facilities, program support and funding for Sarasota County special athletes.

Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Suncoast — a highly effective youth mentoring organization.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota — a safe, fun and educational alternative to children being left to themselves and the streets.

First Step — an organization focused on addiction recovery programs.

New College Foundation — providing enhancement funding to sustain academic excellence at New College of Sarasota.

St. Jude Catholic Church — a house of worship in Sarasota.

Suncoast Foundation for the Handicapped — an organization providing charitable contributions to other organizations working with the handicapped.

Special Operations Warrior Foundation — a group providing scholarships and educational counseling to the children of military special operations personnel killed in the line of duty.

Central Command Memorial Foundation — an organization dedicated to honoring members of the armed forces and the memory of those who gave their lives in service to this country.
